Product Features:
National Geographic EQ 76/700 is a telescope with a reflecting optical system, which uses the property of reflecting the light of mirrors. These mirrors are curved, so as to converge the light in a point called focus. The primary mirror of 76 mm diameter is already able to show numerous craters on the lunar surface and also some details on the major planets.
The equatorial system allows the telescope to be moved on the axis parallel to the Earth's rotation and on the perpendicular axis, which lies on the plane of the celestial equator. Once stationary, it allows for greater precision in tracking celestial objects.
Thanks to the accessories supplied, it is a very versatile instrument, suitable for popularization. The 5×24 optical finder is included to easily locate and center celestial objects, 3 eyepieces of 9 mm, 12.5 mm and 25 mm, the 3x Barlow lens to further amplify the magnification, the erect image with a 1.5x multiplication factor and the lunar filter to reduce the light intensity of the telescope, essential for a clearer view of bright subjects such as the moon, Venus and Jupiter.
Like any reflecting telescope, the National Geographic 76/700 is free of chromatic aberration and therefore objects are displayed without spurious colors.
